The Prince’s Trust in Northampton is very grateful indeed for the support of the TEAM Programme given by Northampton Town Football Club. For many years now the Club has provided facilities for the young people to present their achievements, provided also the use of the Study Centre to enable the young people to record their endeavours and thus enable the City & Guilds Examining Body to award qualifications. In addition Darren Norton of the ‘Cobblers’ Community Programme regularly gives his time to run sports and exercise sessions and talks on healthy living and lifestyles.
20 young people, aged between 16 -25, are the latest to complete The Prince’s Trust ‘Team’ Programme in Northampton. Team is a 12 week course of personal development training which is delivered locally by Tresham College of Further and Higher Education. The course develops confidence, motivation and skills for employment and also offers young people the opportunity to gain qualifications. The aim is to help young people move into employment, education or training.
During the programme teams spend a week at a residential outdoor centre in the Peak District learning team working skills. They also work on a community project in Northampton and regularly incredible amounts to assist their project. They then complete individual work placements and get help planning for their future. For their Team challenge they spent a week at Vitalise, a centre for disabled adults, where they support the guests.
If you are aged 16 -25 and like the idea of perhaps joining a Team or indeed know of a young person who might then contact PAUL HAMBLIN on 07717 227503
