Northampton Town's Football in the Community Programme welcomed over 70 budding young footballers to Sixfields stadium for our October coaching courses this half term. Close to 60 children took part in our Cobblers Pro Camp between Monday and Thursday, with a further 12 goalkeepers perfecting their skills with our GK coach. In addition to this, we welcomed 10 youngsters between 3 and 5 years who joined us on our Cobblers Toddlers course for their first tastes of football! One parent when asked about the week said "the staff were excellent and my son was thrilled with his medal and certificate, and has already asked when he can go again!"
The coaching staff were very impressed at the standard in all groups, with a high ability level on show during the mornings technical sessions, and some very competitive tournaments during the afternoon. The week ended with first team stars Nathaniel Wedderburn and Ashley Corker taking time out of their busy schedule to watch our young footballers in action and finish off the camp in fine fashion by presenting all players with certificates and medals after facing a gruelling question and answer session from our youngsters looking for inside information on how to make it as a professional footballer!
The community staff are busy planning and preparing for our festive football fun courses which will take place at various venues over the christmas period. Keep an eye on our website for more details of how to secure your place on our future courses!
