All female football players are welcome to attend from the
ages of 16 and above.
Northampton Town Ladies play their fixtures in the Midland
Women's Combination League (tier 3 of the Ladies structure
(excluding the WSL)). During a football season, our Ladies
train every Monday evening at Sixfields and Thursdays
evenings at Thomas Beckett School with games on a Sunday
afternoon.

further than they did in last year's area final at Barnet.

The Ladies won their first game of 2012 thanks to a goal
from Lisa Porter on 26 minutes. The goal came following an
excellent cross from Sarah Bland, allowing Lisa Porter the
opportunity to beat her marker to slot home.

Young players from our Elite Female Development Programme
took time out of their training schedule to visit
Sainsbury's store at Sixfields in an attempt to raise much
needed funds for their programme. The girls made the visit
on the 19th December and were on hand to help shoppers pack
their groceries in return for small donations towards the
project. In total, all donations came to a whopping
£688.81!

On Thursday 22nd December players from Northampton Town's
Elite Female Development Programme made the trip to Swindon
who hosted the first futsal tournament of the year. Teams at
U11, U13 and U15 age groups from Swindon, Charlton, Watford,
Coventry and Reading, along with the Cobblers made the
journey to take part in this indoor, 5-a-side tournament
based on the portugese twist of the traditional game.

Programme welcomed close to 70 budding young Cobblers to
Sixfields this week to take part in our final coaching
course of 2011. Children aged as young as 3 braved the
cold and wet conditions to learn tips and skills from our
community coaches, along with some expert advice from first
team stars Adebayo Akinfenwa and Jake Robinson, who also
took the time to teach the finer points of their latest
celebration!

in the Community have recently completed the Northampton
Community and Volunteering Project organised in partnership
with Northants Sport. The volunteers come from Northampton
Town Multi Disabled Club and volunteers who help at the
Changing Goals Project at the Racecourse.

This week Northampton Town's Football in the Community
programme welcomed Councillor Suresh Patel to the Rotherham
fixture at Sixfields stadium to receive funding to deliver a
coaching programme to 3 classes of pupils in Lyncrest
primary school and Briar Hill primary school. Our team of
Community coaches will work with pupils to deliver fun,
engaging, challenging sessions focusing on fundemental
movements such as agility, balance and coordination, whilst
setting a series of challenges to encourage teamwork and
problem solving. The sessions are structured in a way that
children will be required to work with fellow pupils to find
solutions to problems and challenges set by our coaches,
relating to aspects of the game such as dribbling and
turning, sending and receiving, shooting and small sided
games.

On Thursday 27th October 2011 and Friday 28th October 2011,
Northampton Town FC Boys Elite Player Development teams
entertained Oxford United FC and Walsall FC at Daventry Town
FC and Daventry Sports Park. On the Thursday the festival
was for the U7, U9, U11s, U13s and U15s/U16s. The festival
took the format of a round robin. The U7s, U9s and U11s,
U13s and U15s/U16s played all their fixtures on grass
pitches. The U7s, U9s, U11s and U13s played a total of 4
games lasting for 15 to 25 minutes in duration, while the
U15s/U16s played a one off 70 minute fixture against Walsall
FC. All age groups did very well in their respective
matches.

Northampton Town's Football in the Community Programme
welcomed over 70 budding young footballers to Sixfields
stadium for our October coaching courses this half term.
Close to 60 children took part in our Cobblers Pro Camp
between Monday and Thursday, with a further 12 goalkeepers
perfecting their skills with our GK coach. In addition to
this, we welcomed 10 youngsters between 3 and 5 years who
joined us on our Cobblers Toddlers course for their first
tastes of football! One parent when asked about the week
said "the staff were excellent and my son was thrilled with
his medal and certificate, and has already asked when he can
go again!"

anti-racism campaign.

teamed up with local councillors to deliver an exciting new
coaching project in various primary schools in the county.
Councillor David Hugheston-Roberts of Northants County
Council and Councillor Brian Oldham of Northampton Borough
Council were responsible for funding a series of 4 week
coaching programmes to children of varyign ages in Hunsbury
Park Primary, Upton Meadows Primary and St Lukes Primary
schools.

Programme are inviting young Cobblers fans aged 6 – 14
years to bring their boots for the Morecambe game! Our
community coaches will deliver a fun packed, energetic
coaching session here at Sixfields prior to the Morecambe
game, where players will learn new skills and tricks with
the ball, improve their technical ability to pass, shoot and
dribble, and perfect their tactical ability in lots of fun
and challenging team games. Following the session, players
will make their way to their seats ready to watch the first
team battle it out with Morecambe in the npower league 2
fixture.

recently been called up for the Republic of Ireland U19
squad for their upcoming UEFA Women’s Under 19
Championship first round qualifying group where they will be
playing in Portugal against Hungary, Israel and the hosting

NTFC Football in the Community Programme are pleased to
announce dates for Early Birds 2011/2012 to take place in
the shadow of Sixfields stadium.

Over the last two months NTFC has been working hard to
provide an Elite provision for girls football within the
club.
We have managed to bring together a comprehensive elite
female programme that will see the girls play the likes
of; Watford, Reading, Tottenham Hotspurs, QPR, Charlton,
Coventry, and Swindon. The girls will train twice a week
with our highly qualified staff and also have an
introduction to Futsal and participate in two Futsal
tournaments and a end of season festival.
Pre season trials will be open from Monday 18th July at
Sixfields Stadium, U11, 13, 15 (6:00-7:30pm) and U17
(7:30-9:00pm). This will run every Monday and Wednesday
through to September. We are particularly looking to add
players in our U17's for the forthcoming season and would be
very interested to see players in that age group at pre
season trials.
The age groups that are being run are (U9 Starting in
September and more information will follow) U11, U13, U15,
U17. Players will be eligible for an age group based on
their academic school year (as of September 2011). the break
down is as follows;
U11 - School Year 5 and 6
U13 - School Year 7 and 8
U15 - School Year 9 and 10
U17 - School Year 11 and 12
All interested trialists need to register there interest and
return the attached form before attending.

The Prince’s Trust in Northampton is very grateful indeed
for the support of the TEAM Programme given by Northampton
Town Football Club. For many years now the Club has provided
facilities for the young people to present their
achievements, provided also the use of the Study Centre to
enable the young people to record their endeavours and thus
enable the City & Guilds Examining Body to award
qualifications. In addition Darren Norton of the
‘Cobblers’ Community Programme regularly gives his time
to run sports and exercise sessions and talks on healthy
