Twenty adult’s volunteers from Northampton Town Football in the Community have recently completed the Northampton Community and Volunteering Project organised in partnership with Northants Sport. The volunteers come from Northampton Town Multi Disabled Club and volunteers who help at the Changing Goals Project at the Racecourse.
The volunteers have been on a journey which has seen them take and pass courses in football, boccia, safeguarding, introduction to leadership and a sport maker’s presentation.
At the Sports maker’s presentation from Northants Sports, the message was after you have the qualifications you should use them to encourage people to become involved in making sport happen locally linking to the 2012 legacy The Sport Maker is simply a group of people that can share experiences and support and encourage each other on their Sport Makers Journey.
With the Olympic and Paralympics coming to our country everyone would like to see more sport happening locally linking to the 2012 legacy. Sport Makers is simply a group of people that can share experiences and support and encourage each other on their Sport Makers Journey. Think of them as special motivating group to help you decide where to start. As you participate in the workshop or convention look out for people whom you connect or who have similar thoughts to you, seek them out in some of the activities and chat through some of the ideas together.
