GIRLS PERFORM WELL IN FUTSAL TOURNAMENT
On Thursday 22nd December players from Northampton Town's Elite Female Development Programme made the trip to Swindon who hosted the first futsal tournament of the year. Teams at U11, U13 and U15 age groups from Swindon, Charlton, Watford, Coventry and Reading, along with the Cobblers made the journey to take part in this indoor, 5-a-side tournament based on the portugese twist of the traditional game.
All games were played to a very high, competitive standard, with some excellent play and great goals scored by all age groups. At the end of all ties, the Cobblers proved a successful club, with our U11s and U15s finishing in 4th place, whilst our U13s took 3rd in their respective leagues.
The next futsal tournament is set to take place in January, at a club to be confirmed. Everyone at NTFC Football in the Community would like to thank all players, parents and friends/family who made the journey to support our Elite Female Development Programme at Swindon. We look forward to seeing you all again in the New Year.
